Jeffrey has been named as Dubbo's new captain for the Western Zone Premier League season replacing Mat Skinner who held the role for the last several seasons.
Jeffrey believes he is in the perfect to take over from Skinner who led Dubbo to the final of the competition against Bathurst last season.
"I think just being in the position I'm sort of in at the moment," he said.
"Being one of younger blokes and looking at what we are trying to do with Dubbo cricket at the moment.
"I guess the good sort of nucleus of players we have around made me really excited.
"I've been keen for a few years now but I've sat on my hands a little bit.
"Now I've got a couple of years of first-grade captaincy under my belt I thought now is the time."

Throughout his time at RSL Colts, Jeffrey has been surrounded by a wealth of experience including Brad Cox and Jason Ryan with the new Dubbo captain crediting the club for teaching him some valuable lessons.
"I think I've learned a lot since moving to Colts," he said.
"Particularly in and around mentality.
"I guess leadership as well. I've always seen myself as that and in that sort of role.
"But I guess talking to them and learning off those guys every week just made me look at the game different I guess.
"They are guys who are just so used to winning so that has sort of rubbed off a little bit with the success we've had.
"I think it comes back to just their skill but the way they approach the game and plan for games as well."
Dubbo's Western Zone Premier League Squad will feature the likes of Mitch Bower, Brock Larance and Tom Coady which should put them right in the mix as premiership contenders.
Jeffrey is hopeful he can bring the talented group together to become a successful side.
"I think if you look at the squad we've got there is a lot of talented players in it," he said.
"The big thing for me is how you bring those players together.
"Over the last 15 years, we've always had strong groups of players together.
"But I think when we've had the best success we come together as a side.
"That's something I'm really going to try and look to do."
While some of the Dubbo players will be in roles they are used to, Jeffrey knows some people may be used throughout the season in different ways than they may be familiar with.
"I want to bring the most of out them," he said.
"When you look at Dubbo cricket we've got a lot of talent there but sometimes we can expect to win.
"That's probably going to be the biggest challenge.
"People will be playing roles they aren't used to.
"So I've got to let them know what their role is going to be and try to get the best out of them."
