Bathurst resident David Stanley is putting the call out to members of the community who might be interested in starting a tabletop war game club, carrying out battle-centric strategy games on custom maps.
Mr Stanley said he's been collecting American Civil War and World War II figurines for 50 years, and is hoping to find like-minded individuals to share in his passion.
"It's the sort of thing you can't do without other people, so I'm hoping going public will generate some interest," he said.

"I belong to a war game group in Canberra, and their community is quite active, and I'd ideally like to get something similar going here in Bathurst."
Mr Stanley said the war games incorporate a variety of battlefield staples, including infantry, cavalry, artillery, tanks and aircraft.
"There's a set of rules that come with both the American Civil War and World War II sets, but I've modified them to make them more simplistic, because they can sometimes be incredibly complicated," he said.
"Me and my brothers have carried out plenty of enjoyable campaigns in the past; there's so much in play to focus on."
Mr Stanley said the games are able to accommodate six or seven people at a time, with many areas of the battlefield requiring careful attention.
"I've made all the tables myself, and they're easy to shift for anyone who has issues leaning," he said.
"They work well in a variety of configurations, and have been modelled to reflect the real-life battlefields that were commonplace during the American Civil War and World War II."
Mr Stanley said he'd especially like to engage ex-military personnel or people with an interest in war history who might be interested in putting their knowledge to use for the purpose of gaming.
"A lot of members in the Canberra group are ex-military, and they cover a wider range of wars," he said.
"It's not at all an activity to promote war and foster war-mongering, it's simply a fun hobby I'm looking to generate further interest with."
"If any interested individuals have their own war games collection, that would also be welcome, as there's nothing like expanding opportunities for gaming."
