Robert Edwin Donn, 40, appeared in Dubbo Local Court where he was formally refused bail.
According to police, about 10pm on Wednesday night Donn allegedly forced entry into a home on Pierce Street in Wellington and stole several items.
The sole occupant - a 77-year-old woman - who was at home at the time of the incident was not injured.

In a separate incident Donn was also allegedly linked to another break-in at a home on Simpson Street in Wellington on November 9, which he has since pleaded not guilty to.
The occupants were not home at the time of the offence which allegedly occurred sometime between 12.30pm and 6.15pm.
According to court documents it's alleged a number of items including an Xbox and remote, Nintendo switch and games, a bag of toys, Pandora bracelet, rose gold rings, cleaning products, travel bags, a box of coke and a passport were among items stolen.
During a bail hearing, the police prosecution opposed bail due to Donn's lengthy criminal history and previous like-offending.
The prosecution said they had a strong case including DNA and fingerprints.
Donn's defence agreed his criminal record didn't assist him, but argued there had been a gap in offending, with his last offence finalised in 2019.
She said Donn was currently on the methadone program, and had been for two years.
With the lack of recent history, the defence suggested Donn be placed on strict bail conditions and reside with his partner in Wellington, report to police daily, abstain from alcohol and drugs, and be subject to a curfew.
However Magistrate Gary Wilson refused bail due to the unacceptable risk posed by Donn, the seriousness of the offences, and similar offences on his criminal history.
The matter returns to court in January.
