About 10pm on Wednesday an unknown person forced entry into a home on Pierce Street in Wellington, and stole several items.
The sole occupant - a 77-year-old woman - was not injured during the incident.

In a separate incident, police were notified after a home at Simpson Street in Wellington, was broken into on November 9, and a number of items stolen.
The occupants were not home at the time.
Both incidents were reported to officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District who began investigations.
Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 40-year-old man at a home at Wellington about 8.45pm on Tuesday.
He was taken to Wellington Police Station and charged with aggravated break and steal, as well as break, enter and steal.
The man was bail refused and is due to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
