A 56-year-old man has been taken to hospital following a single-vehicle crash west of Dubbo.

About 6.10pm on Thursday emergency services were called to Rawsonville Bridge Road - about 18km west of Dubbo - following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Police were told the car crashed into a tree, and the male driver was trapped in the vehicle.

NSW Fire and Rescue, along with the Dubbo Rescue Squad were able to release the man from the car.
The man was taken to Dubbo Hospital for treatment and mandatory testing.
Offers attached to the Orana Mid-Western Police District have begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
