Marcia Ann Dixon, 43, fronted Dubbo Local Court on Thursday where she pleaded guilty to reckless grievous bodily harm.

Previously laid charges of negligent driving, cause grievous bodily harm with intent and fail to stop after vehicle impact were withdrawn.

According to an agreed statement of facts, the conflict between Dixon and the woman began when they were both driving through the roundabout at the intersection of Cobra and Fitzroy Streets, on September 3, 2020.

The woman was driving a Toyota Prado while going through the roundabout and tried to overtake Dixon - who was driving a Holden sedan on the inside lane.

After the vehicles left the roundabout Dixon and the people in the Prado started verbally abusing each other and making gestures.

Both vehicles continued down Cobra Street, when a third driver - who was known to the woman in the Prado - intervened and steered his vehicle in between the Dixon and the woman.

Dixon pulled over and the third driver also stopped behind her. She then got out and began yelling at him before later getting back in her car.

The Prado stopped about 20 metres in front of Dixon's vehicle, when other occupants of the Prado got out and began verbally abusing Dixon in her driver's seat.

Dixon threw a coffee cup at them, before they started kicking Dixon's car.

While this was happening, the woman driving the Prado reversed it back to where Dixon and the other occupants were.

In court documents it states the woman started to film what was happening on her mobile phone, when Dixon accelerated back onto the road. However as Dixon drove off, the front passenger side of the vehicle struck the woman filming, who was driving the Prado.

"The impact caused the victim to 'roll' between the offender's vehicle and her own," court documents said.

Dixon did not intend to hit the woman with her car, however court documents said she was aware of where the woman was standing when she recklessly drove away.

After the incident, a witness attempted to block two lanes of traffic in an attempt to stop Dixon from driving away, however she steered around the truck and went to a family member's home to tell them what happened.

The family member took Dixon to Dubbo Police Station where she was arrested.

Dixon told officers she was scared of the situation and fled, because she was in conflict with two carloads of "them".

After the incident, the woman Dixon hit was flown to Westmead Hospital where she underwent surgery for numerous injuries including bleeding on the brain, a grade four liver laceration along with rib, pelvic and facial fractures.

The woman has since recovered.

Dixon spent more than nine months remanded in custody after the incident, before she was granted bail in June this year.

A sentencing assessment report was requested and the matter will return to the local court on December 21 for sentence.
