The message comes following a spate of police pursuits and property crime in the Dubbo region.

A 25-year-old man and teenager were arrested following a pursuit on Wednesday afternoon.

About 6.30pm police were patrolling the Dubbo CBD when the driver of a grey Suzuki Swift accelerated away from them on Magnolia Boulevard.

A pursuit was initiated, and officers followed the vehicle through Dubbo before the car headed west on the Newell Highway where it left the roadway and came to a stop on a grass verge.

The driver, Steven Michael Merritt, 25, and two passengers aged 15 and 26, were arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

Steven Michael Merritt, 25, appeared before Dubbo Local Court on Thursday, charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty and breach of bail.

In court Merritt pleaded guilty to a police pursuit drive dangerously, and never being a licenced person driving a vehicle on the road.

However, Merritt pleaded not guilty to allegedly stealing the Suzuki Swift or resisting three senior constable police officers in the execution of duty.

Merritt was refused bail and the matter will return to court in December.

The teen was charged with possess prohibited drug and was given conditional bail to appear at a children's court in December.

A police officer was also injured when a teenager was charged following a number of property offences in Dubbo on Wednesday.

About 6.30am on Wednesday, police were called to a home in Susan Place following reports of a break and enter.

Police attended and began a search after reports people were seen running from the area.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 17-year-old after a short foot pursuit and struggle on Pine Knoll Drive.

A constable was injured during the arrest and was taken to Dubbo Hospital for treatment.

The teenager was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with nine offences including steal motor vehicle, damage property by fire, aggravated break and enter knowing a person was there, and assault an officer in the execution of duty.

The teenager was refused bail to appear at a children's court on November 22.

While there has been an increase in the number of break and enters, steal motor vehicles and police pursuits in the Dubbo area, Superintendent Sullivan has assured the community can expect to see more arrests in the coming weeks.

He said members of the criminal investigation team along with the proactive crime unit, the western region enforcement squad and traffic and highway patrol had been investigating the spike in crime.

"Let me assure our community that the Orana Mid-Western police district has a team working on these matters and we're working very closely with our community," he said.

"To those who are committing these offences we will not stop. We will hunt you down and bring you before the court. so please rest assured we're working on this."

Superintendent Sullivan has urged anyone who has information about a crime to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
