The trainer and jockey combined for two wins from the opening three races at Warren with Larynx in the second race before Winter Moon stormed home in the third of the day.
Following the race, Thompson told Sky Thoroughbred Central he felt Gallagher rode Winter Moon to perfection in the Qube Logistics Class 2 Handicap.
"Rippa that led the first one in, he is in a fair few horses with us, they are two of his," he said.
"I told him it would be worth his will coming up today and it was.
"Clayton rode him a treat.
"We were hoping to be in the first four or five but I said when he jumps just make a decision.
"He jumped that easy and got across easy.
"He ran really good."

Winter Moon came into the race with just one win during his career and Thompson admitted it ironically came at Warren.
"He's won his first race here," he said.
"It's the only race he has ever won before which was here at Warren.
"This track just suits him.
"He is a big, gangly horse and he's got a chance to balance up.
"He just does his best here."
Winter Moon ($3.40) got out of the gates well sitting in the middle of the pack from the jump heading into the final straight before Gallagher decided to make his move.
Dead On Time ($5) pushed hard into the lead early on the straight but Winter Moon moved up alongside the leader as the two went back and forth during the last 400 metres of the race.
It was Dead On Time who moved ahead but Gallagher and Winter Moon found some pace to narrowly push ahead past the post to take the win. Zoey Lass ($9) finished in third place ahead of Zoey Lass ($8).
Earlier in the day, Larynx ($3.20) was too strong winning by almost three lengths in the B & D Brouff Earthmoving Benchmark 58 Handicap on the track rated a Good 4.
Petain ($26) trained by Bob Howe and ridden by Anthony Cavallo finished in second place ahead of Zamali ($10) trained by Gilgandra's Kieren Hazelton and ridden by Billy Cray.
Derek Piper and Girragulang took out the opening race of the day by the smallest of margins.
Girragulang ridden by Grant Buckley ($1.60) won in a photo finish narrowly ahead of Lipstick Lil ($3.40) trained by Dubbo's Brett Robb to take out the Macquarie Toyota Maiden Plate.
Camp Cove ($17) trained by Dubbo's Connie Greig finished in a comfortable third place ahead of Joeycee ($26) who finished in fourth place.
A total of nine races were held at Warren Racecourse on Sunday including the Qube Agri Cotton Cup and the Qube Agri Warren Jockey Club Sprint.
