Miss Mills worked with Connect to Country on the production of the song and music video which they are using to create awareness around the importance of growing up on country.
"I wrote the song and Connect to Country helped me produce it. They had a big role in the filming and production of it," she said.
"They've been working on a program in partnership with Campfire.
"It was a great experience for me to be able to work with such professional people who are really good at what they do."
Miss Mills said she used her Nan's experiences, as well as others to craft a song which she hopes will be an educative source.
"When I wrote the song I obviously had in mind the importance of the meaning of the song," she said.
"A lot of Indigenous people don't get to feel what it is like to grow up on land due to the disconnection we've had so to be able to capture that really showed me how lucky I am.
"I educated myself on other Indigenous people's experiences, I wanted it to be a tool to educate, not only non-Indigenous people but Indigenous people, on connection to country.

"It's from her perspective having grown up on the mission in Dubbo, but not entirely.
"It's a mix between generations and how important growing up on country is to us all.
"But I spoke to her [Nan] before I wrote the song regarding her feelings and what it was like for her to grow up on country so I could get an accurate representation of her perspective and personal experiences.
"In a way, it kind of is a tribute to her."
Miss Mills said music to her was a way to express feelings and emotions and it was something she would continue to use as an outlet.
"You can express anything you want through music," she said.
"In Aboriginal culture right across Australia music has played a big role in story telling- so I will definitely stick to telling stories through my songs, especially when it comes to my culture- that's always something that is very important to me. I'd just like to thank Connect to Country, Campfire and every one who worked on the production."
