Cooper was thrown from the saddle of Texas Lil in the mounting yard prior to the final race of the day, and there were serious concerns for her health when the mare reared and fell to the ground on top of her.
After a lengthy period of medical attention at the track, Cooper was transferred to Dubbo Hospital and diagnosed with a broken collarbone and broken ribs.
An eerie feeling fell over Dubbo Turf Club while Cooper was being attended to in the mounting yard, as some people in attendance described it as one of the worst incidents they had seen at a track.

Texas Lil, who was Cooper's only ride for the day, was subsequently scratched from the race.
Cooper is the daughter of Dubbo trainer Myron Cooper and had combined with Texas Lil earlier this year to score an almighty boilover when the pair won at $151 at the Dubbo track.
When the final event was run on Saturday, it was won by the Brett Thompson-trained Larynx.
