The country cup trail is alive and well and those who have been chasing feature success will head to Coonabarabran on Sunday.
Nominations for the $75,000 Coonabarabran Cup (1600m) were released on Tuesday and there was a familiar feel to the names involved.
The likes of Aesop's Fable, A Magic Zariz, Hit The Target, Ready To Humble, Ecker Road, Rich And Shameless, and Fast Talking were all put forward after contesting cups at western towns like Coonamble, Bathurst, Dubbo, Parkes, Gilgandra and Forbes in recent months.
Aesop's Fable is proving to be the cup king this season and will head to Coonabarabran after winning both the Coonamble Cup and Dubbo Gold Cup in his past two starts.

He and Moree trainer Peter Sinclair will look to complete a rare treble on Sunday but there will be plenty of competition after a strong 23 nominations were received for the feature event.
Dubbo trainer Kody Nestor is in the mix with Fast Talking, who has placed in the Black Nugget Cup and both the Dubbo and Bathurst cups this preparation, while Ecker Road from the Gilgandra stables of Bryan Dixon ran fourth in both the Dubbo Gold Cup and Panorama feature sprint at Bathurst.
The eight-race showcase meeting at Coonabarabran attracted 184 nominations in total, with 24 also being put forward for the $35,000 sprint over 1100m.
Among the nominations for that event were Dar Lunn's Classy Rebel, winner of the recent Collie Cup and Coonamble Crystal Sprint, and fellow Dubbo hope Messy Miss, the Brett Robb-trained mare which won last weekend's Dandy Cup at Narromine.
Final fields are released on Thursday.
