On Wednesday, the Bureau of Meteorology's (BoM) seven-day forecast for Dubbo predicted this Sunday would be a "sunny" reprieve from days of rain.
It began to fall last Sunday with a downpour of 22.6 millimetres (mm) in the 24 hours to 9am Tuesday pushing the city's monthly rain tally to 25.6mm as of Wednesday morning when dark clouds settled in.

The BoM's seven-day forecast included a 90 per cent chance of the city getting up to 10mm of rain on Thursday and an 80 per cent chance of up to 5mm on Friday.
Below-average top temperatures have accompanied the rain including 13.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
The average maximum temperature at Dubbo during October is 25.2 degrees.
Daytime temperatures from Thursday to next Tuesday will range from 17 to 27 degrees.
