Two elderly Dubbo residents have been threatened with secateurs and robbed after a break-in during the early hours of the morning.

Officers have been told about 3.30am on Saturday, and 85-year-old man and 84-year-old woman on Tamworth Street woke to a noise inside their home.
They found two unknown males searching the house, before they threatened the occupants with secateurs.
The elderly couple were detained by the men, who demanded firearms. The fled from the house with cash and the occupant's vehicle - a Ford Fairlane - which has been located.

No injuries were reported from the incident.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District attended, established a crime scene and started an investigation.
Both men are described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance and were both wearing dark hooded jumper/jackets, face masks and gloves
