Western Zone chairman Mark Frecklington said districts can expect to know what their season will be looking like any day now.

"The draws are close. We're waiting for everything to be finalised for country programs," he said.

"For example, we need to know where the Country Championships land. The Western Zone Premier League draw should be out soon.

"The Western Zone Under 16s competition is already up online, and the others should hopefully be going up over the next few days."

The major change to this season of Western Zone will be the lack of a senior Mid West team.

Dubbo, Bathurst, Orange, Cowra, and Parkes will all be returning for the new season of cricket.

Bathurst will go into the Western Zone Premier League competition as the defending champions after beating Dubbo by 45 runs in February's grand final.

It marked the second successive season Bathurst had beaten Dubbo in the WZPL decider.

The under 16s competition is less than a month away from getting started and the Dubbo District Junior Cricket Association will field two teams.

Both sides will be on the road in the opening round on November 7, with Dubbo Blue to take on Lachlan while Dubbo White will play against Mudgee.

Western Zone also have colts (under 18s) and inter district under 16s games to finalise for the 2021-22 season.

The junior and senior local cricket competitions are due to start on Saturday, October 30.
