Nestor and his team travelled to Albury earlier this year, as well as multiple trips to Sydney including to Royal Randwick, for the final of the Country Championships.

Nestor will be taking three horses from his stable to Port Macquarie for Friday's meeting.

With one Kosciuszko spot still left, Jailbreak is still a chance of making the field.

Nestor-trained Cardiff was removed from the possible runners in the $1.3 million race, to be held at Royal Randwick on the same day as the TAB Everest, due to an infection.

Nestor is eager to see what Jailbreak can do on Friday at Port Macquarie when he runs in the $80,000 Birdon Group Sprint.

"He's in good order," he said.

"He's improved off his last run fitness wise.

"He sort of went into Dubbo using it more as a barrier trial for him.

"So he has definitely come off fitness wise and drops about three kilos in weight which is a big help too."

In regards to the Kosciuszko spot, Nestor admitted he has plans for Jailbreak whether he gains entry to the race or not.

"We're sort of taking the path if he gets picked he gets picked," he said.

"But I'm not going to let it hinder his preparation either.

"We've got other plans in place if he doesn't happen to get a spot.

"It's not the be all and end all but if he happens to get a slot he is quite capable of backing it up next week."

Fast Talking will run for Nestor in the $200,000 Port Macquarie Cup and should be a strong contender for the win.

"Obviously a step up grade in touch but he drops right back down in the weights," he said.

"Back to the 2000 [metres] will suit.

"$200,000 race so it's going to be a difficult task but he's in good order and I think he will appreciate the big weight drop."

Democracy Manifest will run for Nestor in the final race of the day the Country Magic Class 1 Handicap and the trainer has no doubt a few lessons will be learned in the journey.

"He was ultra impressive in Dubbo first up," he said.

"I think he deserves his chance at a $50,000 Class 1.

"Obviously, he is still young and immature but so the trip away will probably do him more harm than good long-term."

Nestor will be without regular jockey partner Anthony Cavallo who will miss the event due to suspension.

Replacing Cavallo will not be an easy task but Grant Buckley will do his best when he rides both Jailbreak and Democracy Manifest on Friday while Ashley Morgan will ride Fast Talking.

Port Macquarie will host eight races on Friday in a Country Showcase meeting with the first race set to jump at 1:20pm.

It will be followed by a further seven races on Saturday in big weekend of racing for the coastal town.
