Donohue told police he had been drinking at home throughout the day, but couldn't recall what he was drinking or how much he consumed.
Following a positive roadside test he was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station where he returned an alcohol reading of 0.177.
His licence was immediately suspended.
In Dubbo Local Court last Wednesday, Donohue pleaded guilty to high-range drink-driving.
The matter has been adjourned for Donohue to complete the PCYC traffic offenders program.
He will return to local court on October 27 for sentence.
