The first big activity is the How does your garden glow competition.
The competition started last Friday and there have already been some impressive submissions.
If you're not sure how to get your garden to glow, that's OK because fortunately, it's open to interpretation.
You might have an impressive display of flowers that are blooming just in time for the warmer weather, so take some pictures, upload them to social media and include the hashtag #GardenGlow.
Don't forget to tag @DubboRegionEvents in your post so that our judges can see it.
You might prefer to utilise fairy lights and other lighting elements to make your garden glow at night time.
Do the same - grab a photo or video and upload it to social media.
Ten people will receive a $100 My Dubbo Region card, one person will receive a $500 voucher for the best themed garden, one person will receive $250 for the most popular entry as voted by the public, and one $250 shopping card will go to the best business entry.
The competition runs throughout the school holidays until October 4, so there's still enough time to get your entry in.
STREAMING SETS
In addition to the How does your garden glow competition, council is searching for some local musicians to perform as part of its Streaming Sets program.
The program is being run in conjunction with SOMAD, and sponsored by DRC'S SPARC Cultural Plan.
Artists will be paid $120 for a 15-20 minute set of either original or cover songs, and it will be live-streamed to Facebook.
The best way to catch the artists is on the Dubbo Region Events Facebook page.
POOLS OPENING
No doubt, over the weekend, you would have heard the great news about local pools being allowed to reopen.
Council will be reopening its public pools, and we will be ensuring we abide by all the Public Health Orders.

We're just finalising the details around this, but the public can rest assured knowing that we will be having very strict COVID-Safe procedures and measures in place.
I just ask the community to be mindful of those measures when visiting the pool.
Some of the COVID-Safe measures in place will include restrictions on numbers entering the facilities, checking-in on arrival, and operating under altered times.
Keep an eye on Council's Aquatic Leisure Centre's Facebook page for updates on how we'll be reopening our pools in a COVID-Safe way.
