Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders says applications are open for funding from the Anzac Community Grants Program until 5pm on November 11.

"Veterans past and present served to keep us safe and this is a great chance to recognise their sacrifices while enriching our communities," he said.

"We're seeking projects that not only recognise the important service of our veterans but also educate future generations about their sacrifices."

Individuals and not-for-profit organisations can apply.

The grants support four categories of projects: research and education; preservation or display of war memorabilia; public commemorative events, and support for veterans in NSW.

Projects which have scored grants in the past include Narromine's honour wall which was updated to include more Indigenous veterans as well as veterans of recent conflicts.

The annual Anzac Community Grants Program has injected almost $250,000 into almost 180 projects since its launch in 2015.
