The hub will be developed on Charles Sturt University land, with Stage 1 involving the construction of a $25.3 million PCYC and Multi Indoor Sport Facility featuring a combination of basketball, gymnastics, indoor hockey, netball, futsal and volleyball courts, providing an all-weather venue for sporting participants of all levels.
This is such an exciting milestone and it's fantastic to see the project gathering momentum. I look forward to the hundreds of local construction jobs and the boost to our local economy the project will provide.

Vaccination numbers pleasing
Yesterday saw an exciting little ray of sunshine with new freedoms for those who have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine across the Dubbo electorate.
As of Monday, 13 September you can participate in an outdoor gathering in a public place subject to the following limits:
A group of five people can gather, as long as each person aged 16 and above is fully vaccinated (i.e. has had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine or has a medical contraindication certificate)
Children 12 years and under are not included among the five person limit (i.e. five adults may gather in addition to children aged 12 and under). Children aged 13 to 15 are not required to have been double vaccinated, but are counted as part of the group of five.
Each person 16 years and over must carry evidence of vaccination and produce it to a police officer on request.
If not fully vaccinated (or in possession of a medical contraindication certificate), outdoor gatherings remain limited to two people. No time limit applies - that's only for the 12 LGAs of concern in Sydney, however, it is important to note that all other rules still apply: maintain physical distancing and good hand hygiene, and wear a mask (unless eating or drinking).
Heavy vehicle testing site
As of Monday, September 13, Dubbo is home to NSW's newest Heavy Vehicle COVID-19 Testing Site. It's operating at the Blackbutt rest area south of Dubbo on the Newell Highway from 6am - 9pm, 7 days a week (with telehealth support after hours). Restrictions to ease for some
Restrictions will be eased for adults who have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from the Monday after NSW passes the 70 per cent double vaccination target (which is expected to be about mid-October): www.nsw.gov.au/media-releases/roadmap-to-freedom-unveiled-for-fully-vaccinated.
