Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett named rookie Blake Taaffe at fullback replacing Latrell Mitchell after the latter was suspended for six games after breaking Joseph Manu's cheekbone.
However, Yeo admitted to NRL.com it would not be out of the question for Bennett to move either superstar five-eighth Cody Walker or winger Alex Johnston to fullback for the clash.
"Not quite sure what they're doing there, I'm not sure if there's smoke and mirrors there or not," he said.
"But obviously they've come out and said that [Taaffe] is playing. You've got to do your video on him and make sure you're nullifying him as much as possible. He's obviously there for a reason."

The fullback spot looms all important for Souths who were terroised by Penrith halfback Nathan Cleary's kicking game.
Taaffe looked solid last week under the high ball against St George Illawarra but Cleary has proven he can make some of the best players in the competition looks silly as was evidence by Josh Mansour's struggles the last time the two sides met.
"They're fortunate enough they've got a lot of different options ... They've got other players that can fill that role," Yeo said.
"The depth they've got at the minute - it's not bad. We'll do our due diligence on Taaffe, for sure, but I don't think we'd be surprised if there was a change there late.
"We're doing our due diligence on the 1-17, but I think every team looks over at the whole 21 and sees what options are there."
Bennett admitted he will need to be certain the fullback he selects in the final 17 will be able to handle Cleary's bombs.
The winner of the Souths and Penrith match will have next weekend off, automatically advancing to the preliminary final.
