The decision comes after the NSW Government extended the original lockdown period for the region and all signs are pointing to a further extension period announcement later this week.
DDJRL president Bernard Wilson admitted the decision was not an easy one for the board to make but the welfare of players and their families comes above all else.
"Obviously it's disappointing," he said.
"Just for the kids to play all year and then to miss semi-finals and their grand finals etc.
"But that's the way the world is at the moment unfortunately.
"It's out of our control.
"We checked every option we had and explored them all.
"But at the end of the day the most important thing is the health and safety of the kids and parents."

DDJRL opted to wait several weeks until making a decision on the fate of their season much like Group 11 but Wilson said there was several organisations which helped make the call.
"We just wanted to give it as long as we could," he said.
"Just to get guidance from NSW Health mainly and NSWRL about our best options and alternatives.
"At the end of the day, the best thing for everyone is that we finished the season and can start looking forward to 2022."
There is no word yet as to what will happen with premierships but Wilson said more will released later this week along with major awards after some more communication.
"We haven't decided 100 per cent on that yet," he said.
"We just have a couple of Zooms to catch up with some people and the executives decision on that.
"We will put a release out during the week because we have awards to give out to people and players.
"That's to give them the recognition they deserve."
