The single, Father and Son, went to number on in the iTunes Australian Country Music Chart and will assist in raising funds for Mr Owen's upcoming Doin It for Rural Aussie Kids end of year roadtrip.
All funds raised from the song will go towards buying toys for isolated and rural Australian children, with the gifts to be mailed out if restrictions are still in place.
Mr and Mrs Owen have temporarily relocated to Wellington during the lockdown, as Mr Owen works with Kids Helpline to promote awareness around rural kids' mental health issues.
He said he had been devastated to hear about the amount of anxiety in the area that young people have expressed over COVID.
