Summit Cranes, 123 Tix, Ben Furney Flour Mills, iClick2Learn and Orana Early Childhood Intervention have all been named finalists in the regional competition that's switching to an online format.
Marketing Directive of Warren, THE Rural Woman - THE Seed Scheme of Lightning Ridge, My Country Greens in the Mount Arthur district, Peggy & Twig of Cathundral and Quentin Park Alpacas & Studio Gallery at Tomingley, are also in the running in their respective categories.
The awards recognise growth, entrepreneurship and celebrate business success and resilience.
Business NSW western NSW regional manager Vicki Seccombe said it was an important occasion.
"It's been an incredibly tough number of years for many businesses due to COVID, drought, bushfires and mouse plagues, so these awards are a wonderful opportunity to showcase the ingenuity, strength and resilience of Western NSW businesses," Ms Seccombe said.
"When we launched these awards earlier in the year, we hadn't expected we would be dealing with the current lockdown and were planning a gala event to be held at Orange in September.
"We believe it's incredibly important to celebrate and support our business community, so we will be pivoting to an online awards event and will shortly be advising our finalists with a new date and format."

Winners of the 2021 Western NSW Business Awards will then represent the region at Business NSW's state awards to be held in November.
"Based on the calibre of this year's finalists, I expect that our regional winners will again do very well at the state Business Awards," Ms Seccombe said.
Summit Cranes is a finalist for the Excellence in Business Award, and director Joshua Shields is in the running for Outstanding Young Business Leader.
Ben Furney Flour Mills has a shot at both the Excellence in Business Award and the Excellence in Innovation Award.
Not-for-profit iClick2Learn is a finalist in both the Excellence in Innovation and Employer of Choice categories.
Dubbo-based online ticketing provider 123 Tix is an Excellence in Micro Business hopeful, as is Marketing Directive.
THE Rural Woman - THE Seed Scheme is a finalist for the Excellence in Innovation Award.
Orana Early Childhood Intervention, which has been supporting children aged 0 to 12 with additional needs for more than 35 years, is a finalist for Outstanding Community Organisation.
The Orana region has a strong showing in the Outstanding Start-up category, with My Country Greens, Peggy & Twig and Quentin Park Alpacas & Studio Gallery making up three of the seven finalists.
Winners from Dubbo have enjoyed success in previous years at the state level.
The regional awards were not held in 2020 due to COVID-19, and were last held at Mudgee in 2019.
