The famed voice of the bush hadn't even mentioned the name Broo Boss until the Peter Kirby-trained outsider had taken the lead in the final few strides of the Members Class 3 Handicap (1600m).
It had appeared Nowyunomi ($8) had done enough when getting the lead back late on in what was a competitive event but under strong riding from Ashley Morgan Broo Boss ($12) motored through the middle of the track to steal victory.
It was just the fifth win of the now seven-year-old's 41-start career and his first since moving to the Forbes stables of Kirby earlier this year.
"It's good to get," Kirby said of the win to Sky Thoroughbred Central.
"We had a little bit of trouble early because he had so long off but he's just starting to come right now, we reckon."

Broo Boss initially raced in Victoria before switching to the stables of Rodney Robb at Nyngan in mid-2019.
He first raced for Kirby in March of this year after a spell of almost a year and the Forbes trainer is hopeful of more success moving forward after victory in start number 11 following his return to the track.
If he's able to recapture the turn of foot shown on Sunday, more success looks extremely likely.
Morgan settled last with Broo Boss early in Sunday's race while the Garry Lunn-trained Ollivander ($7) created a handy lead early on.
Ollivander continued to lead all the way into the turn for home but the favoured duo of Jahbath ($4) and Nowyounomi loomed on the outside while $3 favourite Just A Brother was looking for a run.
Nowyounomi took control late in the piece and while a number of other contenders pushed forward, it wasn't until late on Broo Boss really wound up.
When he did, he surged through the middle of the field to take victory while Nowyounomi was second and Ollivander fought on well for third.
The win for the small-time Forbes trainer came after provincial trainers had started the meeting the best.
The first three races were won by the Ciaran Maher and David Eustace-trained Narrated ($1.30), Mark Minervini's Quick Tempo ($3.80) and Bjorn Baker's Sea Treasures ($1.80) respectively.
