Assistant Commissioner, Superintendent Brett Greentree said it was another "disappointing" 24-hours for police.

On Thursday police issued over 150 infringements across the western region, with 50 in Dubbo.

In other areas of concern police issued over 25 infringements in Orange, and more than 10 in Bourke to people breaching the stay at home orders.

However, Superintendent Greentree said it was a "real positive" to see 60 compliance checks in Wilcannia with no breaches.

"I know we focus on the negatives, but that's a really positive story. Thank you to the community of Wilcannia for doing that and who are assisting us on the way there," he said.

NSW Police are continuing operation Stay at Home, alongside the Australian Defence Force to ensure people are abiding to the public health orders.

Supt Greentree said hundreds of compliance breaches across the region were being reported anonymously via Crime Stoppers.

"Its not just the police watching, it's your neighbours, it's the community and we thank them for alerting us to those who aren't complying with the orders," he said.

"We will not take kindly to people not complying with the orders, because it puts us all at risk."

However Supt Greentree said the operation wasn't just about compliance, and police were also preforming a number of wellbeing checks.

"They're being well received right across the region with our defence force partners, and they will continue because we are there to support as well," he said.

Ultimately the Assistant Commissioner praised the western region for their resilience.

"I am just amazed at the leadership, the cooperation and strength of these communities," he said.

"We have a minority that are not complying with the orders and they're being dealt with very, very seriously.

"But the large majority of people are doing the right thing.

"The sooner we stay at home we get through this and we come out of lockdown."
