So much can change in a week, and although we're slowly getting on top of the number of infectious people in the community, we are still far from eradicating it completely.

The entire community has really come together to get on top of this virus, and it is no small feat.
A special thanks must go to all of the Aboriginal community leaders who have so passionately supported council and western NSW Local Health District in getting these important health messages out to the community.
So far, we've had assistance from Riverbank Frank, Jeff Amatto, Joe Williams, Trixie Watts, Isaac Compton, Dawn Towney, Peter Gibbs, and Aunty Margaret Walker, to get more people tested, ask them to stay at home, and get vaccinated if eligible.
There is more to come, so keep an eye out for their videos when they come through.
The numbers are continuing to show young people between the ages of 10 - 19 are predominantly affected, and at the time of writing, we fortunately did not have anyone over the age of 70 with the virus.
However, it's important we acknowledge the family members who have been hospitalised and receiving specialist community care. It is a very difficult time for the families who are so used to sharing their homes with each other, where often grandparents live with their grandchildren.
Our elders are a particularly vulnerable community, so it's so comforting to see that the health advice has been heard loud and clear, and that young people are staying away to keep their elders safe.
The community may have also seen the Australian Defence Force (ADF) working alongside the local police district this week.
The Australian Defence Force is here to offer assistance with not only compliance operations, but with the vaccination rollout.
If you see them out and about, they're here to protect the community to ensure this virus doesn't claim the lives of anyone in our Local Health District.
I was also very happy to hear that there will be an increased number of Pfizer vaccinations making their way to the LHD.
This will ensure ample opportunity for people to obtain the vaccination if they are only eligible for Pfizer.
I know it can be frustrating to try to make a booking, but take comfort in knowing more resources are on their way and our priority groups will be vaccinated as soon as possible.
