Teams from the Australian Defence Force have begun arriving in Dubbo where they will help establish two vaccination hubs, and be deployed to remote northwestern NSW communities.

Five teams will arrive, three of which will remain in Dubbo to help get the population vaccinated, while two teams will travel with Pfizer doses to communities including Walgett, Bourke and Brewarrina.
Premier Berejiklian told regional NSW media, that she welcomed the support from the federal government.
"We are extremely concerned about our vulnerable communities and the number of children that are actually susceptible to the COVID virus at the moment, and we appreciate that our staff are working in very difficult situations in Western NSW given the distances involved, given the high number of cases versus the population."

The Western region health chief Scott McLachlan said the ADF would help "vaccinate big numbers of people right across the region".
"Two of those teams are expected to go out to the northwestern small and remote communities, around Bourke, Brewarrina and Walgett and those communities," Mr McLachlan said. "And three of those teams dedicated to Dubbo, to help us set up a walk-in vaccination hub later in the week at Pioneer Oval, and a drive-through clinic at the showground.
There are currently mobile vaccination clinics at Brewarrina, Weilmoringle and Goodooga. Over the past two days there have been almost 1,000 people vaccinated in Walgett.
The focus in coming days will be Bourke, where there have been two cases identified.
