On Tuesday evening authorities confirmed a person at Dubbo West Primary School had tested positive to COVID-19. A second case has also been confirmed by the NSW government.
The lockdown will apply to anyone who has been in the Dubbo LGA on or after August 1.
It includes Wellington, Wongarbon, Geurie, Brocklehurst, Stuart Town, Mumbil and Eumungerie.
Social visitors from outside the household, including family and friends are not permitted to visit.
People still can have one visitor at one time to fulfil carers' responsibilities or provide care or assistance, or for compassionate reasons, including where two people are in a relationship but do not live together.
People also cannot enter the Dubbo LGA without a reasonable excuse to do so. Dubbo residents are urged to limit their movements in the community at this time and to come forward for testing for even the mildest of symptoms.
Here are the reasons you can leave your home:
- to buy food or other goods and services
- to go to work, if you cannot reasonably work from home and your business is allowed to be open
- for education, if it is not possible to do it at home
- exercise and recreation if it is not possible to do so
- for medical or caring reasons, including getting a COVID-19 vaccination
- to access childcare
- to attend a funeral or memorial service
The full list of reasons can be found on the NSW government website.
When leaving home, you must carry a face mask at all times. You must also carry your proof of address if you've left your home for a justified reason.
Under the stay-at-home orders, if you leave home to go shopping, residents must stay within their LGA or within 10km of their home. Only one person per household may leave their home each day to shop for food or other goods and services. You may take a dependent person with you if that person cannot be left at home on their own.
If leaving the home for exercise and outdoor education, residents must stay within their LGA or within 10km of home. You can exercise with one other person that you do not live with. You can exercise in a group of more than two if all from the same household.

- petrol stations
- banks and financial institutions
- hardware, building supplies
