A new update for the Service NSW's QR code check-in app will remove a "pain point" for masked-up residents.
NSW government Customer Service Minister Victor Dominello posted online earlier this week that they are working on a new feature that would open up settings to allow people to set their own default check-in time.
Currently the default settings for logging in is 10 minutes.
And with masks, people are unable to use facial recognition to log in to update their check-in.
"This is definitely a pain point," Mr Dominello said.
"Having to take off your mask every time you need to access the QR check in.
"Particularly when you are checking in and out of multiple venues a day."
The new feature is expected to be available by August 13.
