The Eagles will take on the Dubbo Kangaroos at No. 1 Oval, determined to get the better of their rivals as results have been split in the previous two meetings.
But the Eagles also have the chance to claim this season's minor premiership, and a win over the Roos is needed to keep that dream alive.
"I'd always expect Dubbo to put in a strong performance at home, but we're confident we've been building enough to get the points up there," coach Col Kilby said.
"But we're not going up there expecting it to come without putting in the hard work."
Cowra, who has had the past two weeks off, sits four points off Orange Emus and the two will do battle at the Eagles' nest in next weekend's final round.
It's been an impressive return for the Eagles after they sat out the 2020 season due to COVID concerns.
"Our aim is to be giving ourselves the opportunity to be playing off for that top spot in the last round," Kilby said.
"We've been doing a lot of work and the players really bought in and took control in the pre-season.
"The early part of the season we were probably a little bit inconsistent, which can be expected from the year off.
"But we feel we've built well and set goals as the year's gone on and we've been achieving those.
"We were still able to train last week, so we still got those sessions in and had a session on Saturday which was very productive.
"So we are preparing as well as we can and we are building well towards finals."
Kick-off is 3.15pm.
