Central West Rugby Union, AFL Central West and the majority of Western Premier League matches were cancelled last weekend.

The move came after week long lockdowns were issued to the Blayney, Cabonne and Orange local government areas due to a positive COVID-19 case visiting the region on July 17.

CWRU's Blowes Clothing Cup, Westfund Ferguson and New Holland Cup will all resume this weekend and president Matt Tink is eager to see the competitions continue just weeks out from the finals series commencing.

"We are very thankful that the restrictions got lifted and everyone is free to play again," he said.

The Blowes Clothing Cup top four have already been confirmed but the order in which they finish is still yet to be decided and Tink feels it could make for some entertaining play.

"The top four is set," he said.

"However, places within the top four are still up for grabs which equates to home finals and things like that.

"With a couple of rounds to go, you've got a situation where Cowra could jump Orange Emus and Forbes could jump the Bathurst Bulldogs.

"Everybody loves a close competition.

"We are not really keen on blow outs and even this week the local derby in Orange.

"City always turn up for that and they'll probably give Emus a good shake."

The Dubbo Kangaroos will be one of the many clubs from around the region who will be eager to get back out onto the field after the week off.

The Roos first grade side host the Cowra Eagles this weekend but are unable to make the finals.

Dubbo could force the Eagles into a tricky spot as the latter is still fighting for the minor premiership which could come down to their final match against the Emus at home.

However, the lower grades, Colts and Westfund Ferguson Cup teams are all likely to feature in the finals series.

AFL Central West's Casey White met with Club presidents on Wednesday night to confirm their plans for the upcoming weekend.

This weekend's competition is expected to go ahead but venues will be finalised later in the week due to ground availabilities shifting matches away from their current locations.

Two of the Western Premier League matches went ahead last week and it is expected all four games will be played this weekend.

Orana Spurs and Dubbo Bulls headlined the two match round of action with the former finishing with a 1-0 victory.

Round 11 of the Group 11 season went ahead unaffected with Dubbo CYMS, Macquarie Raiders and the Nyngan Tigers winning.
