Dubbo Early Learning Centre preschool room leader Johnise Cutner said she feels as though educators are responsible to provide their students with the tools they need to build a strong foundation and succeed.
"Early learning matters to me because I believe the children we are looking after and teaching are the future adults of our community," she said.
"Throughout my life I have had strong role models who have guided me toward early education and the value it has from babies all the way through to school.
"I believe education must start within the home and it is our job to incorporate that education and bring that to the early learning environment."
Miss Cutner said going on to work within the early learning sector was a 'natural progression' for her, having come from a big family herself and having babysat many of her younger cousins over the years.
Early Learning Matters Week, run annually country-wide by Early Childhood Australia, runs from July 26 to July 30 and aims to raise awareness around the importance of early education and the role it plays throughout one's life.
