The $140,000 playground is part of Dubbo Regional Council's Playground Improvement Program. It will replace the equipment currently at the park that is nearing the end of its life.
The new play space includes elements for climbing, sliding and imaginative play, as well as a hula rocker, inclusive saucer and all-abilities swing set.

There will also be a shadecloth to provide protection from the sun.
Mayor Stephen Lawrence said the current playground was well-utilised by the community and those stopping at the Visitor Information Centre, so the new, inclusive play area would be a great addition to the site.
Construction is scheduled to start on Monday, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed within four weeks.
Council staff have been working closely with the Farmers Markets committee and other stakeholders to ensure the construction and the new location of the playground has a minimal impact on events.
