An updated public health order released on Tuesday night confirmed those three areas will remain in lockdown until 12.01am on Thursday, July 29 after a worker at a Blayney factory became infected with the virus by a visiting truck driver.

Those from outside those areas who visited on or after Saturday, July 17 must also adhere to the stay-at-home orders, and a number of sporting teams from Dubbo fall into that category.

The Dubbo Demons' men's AFL Central West Tier 2 side was played in Orange on Saturday and information was quickly put out the players following Tuesday night's announcement.

No-one involved with the Demons went to any of the five exposure sites in Orange, club president Tom Skinner confirmed, but anyone who travelled to the match, outside those deemed essential workers, are following the state government's stay-at-home orders.

A number of players went and got tested immediately on Wednesday morning to ensure the safety of themselves and the community while the club advised anyone who shows symptoms to also get tested.

"We have made sure all players that went know what's expected of them as a representative of the club and Dubbo," Skinner stated.

The Demons' Tier 1 side was scheduled to play in Orange this coming Saturday but AFL Central West has confirmed the entire round of senior and junior competition has been abandoned.

Paramount Tennis Club players also travelled to Orange last Sunday and played in the third round of the Central West Cup competition.

The same information in regards to stay-at-home orders was passed on to those players and spectators, as well.

"It's been communicated to all our players who attended there on the Sunday," Paramount Tennis Club president Charlie Whiteley confirmed.

"Before the event there was regular communication between the three clubs involved in terms of what the guidelines were for safe play. We made sure we were operating in the guidelines at all times."

Five of the eight players who took to the court in Orange also play in Paramount's regular A Grade competition on Monday nights and they have been informed they won't be able to take part in next week's round.

A junior hockey carnival featuring sides from all over the region was also played in Dubbo at Pioneer Park on Sunday.

Team from Molong and Orange attended but Hockey NSW's Regional Participation Coordinator for Western, Glenn Johnstone, said there had been no issues or concerns following the carnival as of Wednesday afternoon.

People from Orange were also in Dubbo on Saturday evening when the Waratahs football side travelled to take on Orana Spurs in a Western Premier League match.

There were no concerns or alerts within the Spurs camp at the time of publication following that match while the WPL confirmed on Wednesday next weekend's scheduled matches between Barnstoneworth FC of Orange and Bathurst's Panorama FC and also Parkes and Dubbo's Macquarie United would be postponed.

The planned Blowes Clothing Cup match between Orange Emus and Dubbo Kangaroos on Saturday and Orange City's meeting Forbes have also been cancelled but the Central West Rugby Union is yet to announce the fate of other matches and competitions under its banner not involving teams from the three areas in lockdown.

Central West Junior Rugby Union has announced all matches on the weekend will be cancelled.
