Hair with Heart Variety Australia provides wigs to kids who have lost their hair due to Alopecia or other medical conditions such as cancer.
The cause is one Mrs Evans holds close to her heart after having lost her four-year-old niece Isobel to brain cancer in 2016.
Mrs Evans had her hair cut by a fellow educator and hairdresser at the preschool with the children from her room there to cheer her on.
Not only was the occasion special for Mrs Evans, but she was also able to use the experience to help inspire and educate the students at Dubbo and District Preschool who look up to her, to value the power of giving back.
"It was a great learning opportunity for the children to see giving back to the community doesn't always have to have a monetary value and that this is a donation almost everyone can make," Mrs Evans said.
