The awards are an annual program run by The Centre for Volunteering to recognise the outstanding work of volunteers in every region across NSW, including Orana.
There are eight award categories: Young Volunteer of the Year, Adult Volunteer of the Year, Senior Volunteer of the Year, Volunteer Team of the Year, Corporate Volunteer of the Year (Individual), Corporate Volunteer of the Year (Team), Excellence in Volunteer Management and the newest award category, Club Volunteer of the Year.
The Centre for Volunteering chief executive officer Gemma Rygate said the awards were a way to say thank you and celebrate the efforts of the state's 2.4 million volunteers.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"Volunteers are the life blood of our communities. We turn to them when we need support, and they are always there ready to help," Ms Rygate said.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns, The Centre for Volunteering made the decision to extend the domination date for the awards.
Nominations will now be taken until Friday, July 23.
