MAMMA MIA! is set to open in a fortnight and audiences are invited to escape to the "special world of Donna's taverna".
The show known for its feel-good story and ABBA music has been in the pipeline for more than a year, its 2020 dates cancelled because of COVID-19, but it's now in final rehearsals.
Director Christine Bray said it was exciting to finally get "our journey to the Greek Isles of MAMMA MIA! opening night in sight".
"After the cancellation of last year's shows we lost about 12 members of the cast and we had to recast quite a few roles," she said.
"Very happy with the wonderfully dedicated cast of about 40 who have come to two rehearsals a week over several months to make MAMMA MIA! an incredibly strong production.
"Our crew is small but dedicated and they have created the very special world of Donna's taverna on the Greek Isles.
"Our choreographers have created energetic and exuberant dancing which brings the story and the stage to life."
The show is for anyone who loves musicals, to be entertained and ABBA music, and audiences won't be disappointed, Mrs Bray said.
"They will be foot tapping throughout, and they may even shed a tear or two... hoping the Dubbo community continues to support us as they have done in previous years," she said.
"We invite them to join us and escape during these uncertain times to this fun-filled, joyous and entertaining show."
The cast brings together a mix of experienced actors and first-timers.
Real life mother and daughter Joey Gibb and Tonisha Francis are in the lead roles of Donna and Sophie Sheridan.
"Newcomer to Dubbo Theatre Company and musical theatre is the great find Dubbo Taronga Western Plains Zoo vet, Benn Bryant...the shining jewel Sam in Donna's life," Mrs Bray said.
"Seasoned performers James Eddy, Greg Markwick, Jacki Roberts and Julia Marshall bring personality, experience and talent to the cast
"Jordan Davis takes on his first role with Dubbo Theatre Company as the young lead Sky.
"Carla Yoingco, Courtney McAnespie, Giordi Borzuola and David Woods complete the lead cast."
Opening night is on July 23, with another three performances on July 24, 30 and 31, and tickets are available from Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre.
