Cruze, a season five Ninja Warrior semi-finalist, has family attachment in Dubbo as well as a large support base, so when he came to town, checking out the Dubbo Ninja Warrior Course was a must.
Although Cruze didn't necessarily struggle his way through the Dubbo Ninja Warrior Course, he was impressed by it.
"I reckon it's actually really good, they had the basket toss there which is on the show in the semi-finals, so yeah, no, I think it's actually really good," Cruze said.
"I think it's a good place to start in Dubbo if you want to become a ninja, it's set out really well."
Cruze said he did have some competition during his run of the Dubbo course.
"I had probably 15 kids there that recognised me and wanted to race me, so we did a few races."
Cruze, an 18-year-old from Boggabri, was the youngest ever contestant to appear on the popular tv show, and he didn't disappoint fans watching the fifth season.
"I've done all the fitness tests out of thousands of applications and made it through to the top 150 and come out as the youngest competitor to appear on the show," he said.
"I had turned 18 and had a bit of pressure on myself, kind of stayed focused and to find out I was on the show and then to have made it to the semi finals as well, I pretty proud.
"The semi-finals were on last Tuesday, unfortunately I didn't focus on my grip and yeah, I came off.
"I think it came down to tiredness. I was on the last obstacle and was close to making it.
"I had last years winner, Olivia Vivien, yelling at me telling me to change my grip, but I couldn't hear her, so I ended up just slipping straight out.
"But, I'm getting ready for season six now. They're already recording for that now so I go back down (to Sydney) soon for that.
"I was top eight, top nine, so I'm pretty proud about that."
Cruze said he decided to apply for Ninja Warrior to show that it doesn't matter where you come from, you can achieve anything.
"It was a bit of inspiration and fitness and yeah, I just wanted to go on and share my story as well."
Cruze said in the heats he went really well.
"I thought I'd be under a lot of pressure but the adrenalin kind of overcome that."
Cruze said it also help that he has an incredibly supportive family and a supportive sponsor in Geoff Richards Panel Beating Dubbo.
"Being on Ninja Warrior has made me feel very positive."
Cruze said he's always had a passion for fitness and wanted to really challenge himself.
"I was always sporty growing up," he said.
"I was always in state champion for swimming and running, things like that, in primary school."
If you missed out on seeing Cruze appear on Tuesday for the semi-finals episode, stay turned for season six coming soon.
