Police were called to a home on Corbett Avenue in Dubbo, with reports of a dispute, about 6.46pm on May 19.
On arrival police spoke with a man, who said he had pre-arranged with Wendy Hutchins, 58, to collect his belongings following a recent separation.

According to police Hutchins and the man had began to argue about items which she had refused to return to him, including a set of keys.
The man kept asking for the keys and explained he would leave when she did, however Hutchins got into his vehicle in an attempt to prevent him from leaving.
The man contacted police, while Hutchins got out of the car and went back inside.
Officers spoke with the man, who was a lease holder of the property, and told them the back door would be open.
Police found Hutchins sitting in the lounge room, and became immediately hostile with police denying she had the man's keys.
While police were outside speaking to the man, Hutchins approached one of the officers, placing her phone, which was in her right hand, up against the head of the female officer.
The other male officer pushed Hutchins back to create distance between them and said "get out of her face, don't walk up behind her and put the phone in the back of her hair".
Hutchins pointed her finger and walked toward the male officer, stating "don't you touch me".
The officer said "you touched her" pointing at the female officer, when Hutchins replied "I had my phone near her" and pushed the male officer in the chest.
She was placed under arrest, but when officers attempted to handcuff her she fought against police grip, pulling her arms away.
"You guys pushed it," Hutchins told officers, before she began to kick the male officer.
He told her to stop when she replied "I'm not kicking you, I'm just placing my foot down onto your foot".
The struggle continued when they tried to put her in the caged police vehicle, and she resisted with her body weight, again kicked at them and held her feet against the door to prevent them from closing it.
In Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday, Hutchins pleaded guilty to assaulting and resisting officers in the execution of duty.
Defence lawyer Carmen Just said Hutchens had consumed seven glasses of wine and was on heavy medication during the time of the offence.
Ms Just said Hutchins had been on medication, because she suffers from mental health issues, as a result of being a member of the Stolen Generations.
The court heard she had been born in Walgett, but was "raised by a white family" in Sydney.
"She's expressed embarrassment ... she apologises for her actions," Ms Just said.
The court heard Hutchins had called the police station to apologise for her behaviour.
Magistrate Theresa Hamilton agreed Hutchins had a limited history and "hasn't been in trouble for some years".
"It's obvious on the facts that the defendant was already upset because of arguments with other people, and continued to act unreasonable," she said.
Hutchins was convicted and sentenced to a 12-month conditional release order.
