The 110 year-old Gold and Fleece Hotel located at Windeyer, about a 40 minute drive from Mudgee if you go via Grattai, is up for sale.
George Hamilton, of Farmer George Lamb fame has owned the historic pub for the last seven years and decided now was the time to sell up.
"If you can if you're going to sell something now's the time to sell it I guess. We would have been selling it in the next couple of years anyway - we're getting old. Why wait when the markets basically roaring, especially in Mudgee," he said.
George said running a country pub like this comes with its own particular lifestyle.
"[The best part is] the community, you know, you're buying a lifestyle change. It's a business, an going business - like buying any business, you're in it to make money. It comes with a lifestyle of its own," he said.
"It's a destination hotel so people come out from Mudgee to get lunch or dinner or whatever. And we get lots of gold prospectors and bike clubs, things like that."
