After a heavy 4-1 loss to Westside prior to the long weekend bye, RSL 78s returned to the field on Sunday and scored a 5-0 win over the battling South Dubbo Wanderers at Lady Cutler 4.
The convincing win keeps the Joe Monteiro-coached side in second place on the ladder heading into games against leaders Wellington and the in-form Dubbo FC in the next two rounds.
"It was good to get back on track after getting a bit of a touch-up from Westside," RSL 78s' Joe Haylock said.
"We've still got a bit to work on. I think we're in a good position but if we want to be serious about the competition the next two weeks will show us where we are at."

Next weekend's match is a bumper top-of-the-table clash as RSL 78s meets a Wellington Warriors side which has banged in a staggering 19 goals in its past three games.
The Warriors downed Westside 4-0 in Sunday's action while elsewhere in round eight the Dubbo FC Bulls defeated Macquarie United 4-2 and Newtown scored a 3-1 win over Orana Spurs.
"It was good to get back in the winner's circle before Wellington, they're on fire," Haylock reiterated.
"We got them 4-1 last time but I think this will be a much bigger challenge."
While back-to-back wins the next two rounds would be a huge statement from RSL 78s, Haylock said the type of performance the side produces is far more important than the final result.
The side has a win, loss, and draw from its past three games and Haylock said the efforts on the pitch haven't been as good as they were early in the year, when RSL 78s won four of the first five matches.
"Hopefully we can get back on track," he said.
"It doesn't matter so much the result, it's more about knowing at the end of the season you can be there at the pointy end.
"We got blown off the park against Westside and if we do that the next two weeks it won't look good so it's about staying with the top of the table sides."
Mark Austin is set to return against Wellington after missing the weekend's win with injury and his presence will be a real boost in the match of the round.
