Mr Kerr has been named in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honours List. Mr Kerr has been honoured as an Officer of the Order for 'distinguished service to wildlife conservation, to animal science education, and to zoological associations'.
Mr Kerr has been part of the Taronga Conservation Society Australia since 2000, and has held the position of director and chief executive since 2009.

He's also the founder of the Taronga Foundation.
Other roles held by Mr Kerr include president of the Zoo and Aquarium Association Australasia, Jane Goodall Institute Global Board representative, Jane Goodall Institute Australia board member and International Rhino Foundation board member.
The zoo CEO is also a Sydney Institute TAFE advisory council member and was chair of Ecotourism Australia.
