Wishfilly lined up in the first of two qualifiers on Friday at the Dubbo track and produced an impressive run home on the heavy 10 track to make it three wins in a row.
Going from gate six with apprentice Casey Waddell in the saddle, Wishfilly ($4.80) was settled in a handy position early on in the heat for fillies and mares as Dusky Damsel ($3.90 favourite), Rubel ($7.50) and Five Star Gal ($13) all worked forward in search of the lead.
The Clint Lundholm-trained Dusky Damsel led the way as they rounded the bend for home while Waddell peeled to the extreme outside and began to loom with Wishfilly.
Music Miss ($7) also moved forward and took control midway down the straight but with plenty of free-running out wide the four-year-old Wishfilly was able to fight her way to lead and win by more than two lengths in strong fashion.
Music Miss was third for trainer Kody Nestor while Bryan Dixon's Boom Queen ($4.60) was third.
The second heat, for colts and geldings, was won by the Brett Thompson-trained Spilia ($7.50).
Mikayla Weir rode Spilia to a narrow win from Nowyunomi ($6.50) and Deshawn ($6).
Spilia, Wishfilly, and the other qualifier are now set to do battle in the $30,000 Winter Country Classic Final (1300m) on June 27.
