Food delivery services are continuing to gain momentum around Dubbo, with DoorDash recently launching their app to service the city.
As restaurants adapt to the ongoing effects of the pandemic, there was a demand from the public for online ordering, which still remains high over a year on. Some restaurants embraced in-house delivery, while others partnered with other companies.
Dubbo has had Menulog since July last year, with the delivery company experiencing an increase of 66 per cent in the number of businesses it services since it started in July 2020.
Door Dash has already partnered with over 35 local restaurants and chain stores, however they were unable to say how many delivery drivers were being hired by the service.
The company is gaining a stronger foothold in the region, and has already launched in Orange and Bathurst earlier this year.
"Dubbo is a central hub for many businesses and valuable consumers, as well as being great tourist spot and stop off for those travelling between Brisbane to Melbourne," a company spokesperson said.
"DoorDash enables locals and travellers to discover the best of the city in a familiar app, helping local businesses to grow."
A number of local restaurants have already signed up to partner with DoorDash including One Sian Thai, Vietnamese House, Mr Wang, Honey House, Fantastic Noodles and The Monkey Bar.
The restaurants will able to use the DoorDash service to show the food options they have available and take advantage of the delivery service.
Couriers in Dubbo will be able to sign up to the company, allowing flexible working options.
Across regional NSW, DoorDash is available in Newcastle, Central Coast, Wollongong, Albury, Coffs Harbour, Wagga Wagga, Port Macquarie, Tamworth, Orange, Bowral, Mittagong, Bathurst, Nowra, Bomaderry, Lismore, Armidale, Goulburn, Griffith and Maitland.
DoorDash launched in Australia in 2019.
