NSW Junior Rugby Union president Ben Gregory is looking forward to the weekend ahead.

"We are really excited about bringing the Under 13s state champs out to Dubbo and to Apex Oval," he said.

"I'm a Wellington boy, born and bred, so this is like me taking a state champs home. I'm very excited."

With all the state championships being held this weekend, Gregory will be a busy man having to make appearance at all of them.

"We've got six big venues from the Under 12s through to the Under 18s," he said.

"It will be some good quality rugby," he said.

"By the time the kids hit that under 12 age group they are playing proper 15-man rugby.

"Once they get to 13s they're playing proper junior rugby, you'll find there is some big boys running around and you'll think 'gee that kid is 13'."

Although the players are only young, Gregory knows there will be a large following for the matches across the weekend.

"There will be some people there who think they are playing for sheep stations but at the end of the day it's just a wonderful festival for rugby," he said.

"There will be a winner crowned but there will be a real good feel, I think we have 15 teams coming to Dubbo and 400 odd competitors plus the associated coaches, refs and at 13s you'll have parents, grandparents, cousins."

Like the majority of Blowes Cup matches this season, the Junior State Championships will be live-streamed on Cluch TV for those who cannot make it to the ground across the carnival.

"We also going to have it all livestreamed on the main oval so grandparents that can't get there will get a little bit of a taste of Dubbo via the livestreaming too,"

"We've tried to get as much Dubbo content into our website and Facebook,"

"The Cluch [TV] guys who are running the telecast are trying to do that as well so we are trying to get a bit of a promotion of Dubbo with a rugby flavour."

The State Championships are the first look for rugby scouts to have a first hand look at the future stars of the game with current Sydney Roosters player Joseph Suaalii playing in Orange just a handful of years ago.
