Australian country music singer/songwriter Melinda Schneider has been an on-stage presence since three-years-old and at eight, she fell in awe of the great singer, actress and comedian Doris Day- a woman she calls a triple threat.

Now, following the passing of Day in May of 2019, Schneider is paying tribute to her idol in the best way she knows how, with her latest show, A Farewell To Doris Day.
Schneider has recorded two albums of Doris' songs, co-written and starred in a theatre show based on Day's life and has done sell-out tours celebrating Day's work.
"Singing her songs and telling her incredible story of resilience has been an absolute honour, and I'm happy to have the opportunity to celebrate her wonderful talent with audiences once again," Schneider said.
Schneider will be bringing the show to Dubbo next week, and says fans can expect an intimate show which showcases all of Day's biggest hits.
The nostalgic mini-concert is a celebration of Day's life and will include all of her biggest hits from hits as Que Sera, Sera, Sentimental Journey, Everybody Loves a Lover and Secret Love plus classic songs from the movies Calamity Jane, Love Me or Leave Me and The Pajama Game.
"It's a celebration of the life of the incredible Doris Day," Schneider said.
"Doris died two-years-ago at 97 years young and this show is a very intimate show.
"I have a little three-piece trio with me and I will be singing twenty of of Doris' biggest hits, telling stories about Doris' life, her different movies, co-stars and the tumultuous stories of her life."
Schneider said she 'fell in love' with Day at eight-years-old when she first saw her acting on Calamity Jane.
"I loved the fact she was a triple threat," she said.
"She could act, she could sing, she was beautiful, she was a great comedian, very funny.
"Doris was also a great animal activist.
"I think I wanted to be Doris Day's best friend, a lot of people did.
"I think everyone wanted to be her best friend
"I've just always loved her.
Similarly to her love for Day, Schneider has always had a love for music, a result of having come from a very musical family.
"My mum's a professional singer as well, so I was very much born into a musical family and I've been singing since I was three years old," she said.
The first show in Dubbo has already booked out, but fans can still book tickets for the matinee show on Sunday, June 20, from 3pm.
