A rematch from last year's grand final was always going to be an exciting game, even more so after the form both clubs has shown so far in the Western Premier League competition.

Bulls got their revenge after losing the grand final with a comfortable 4-2 win over Spurs heading into the long weekend bye round across all the grades.

Bulls' Stuart Morris was pretty pleased with the performance of the side.

"Especially because they beat us in the grand final," he said.

Dane Gardiner scored a hat-trick for Bulls while Rhys Beauchamp calmly slotted a penalty shot to lead to the win.

Morris has been pleased with how Bulls have played so far this season.

"[It's been] pretty good, we've only lost two games against Wellington and Westside," he said.

"But obviously there was a little bit of drama between Bulls and Spurs last year in the grand final.

"We've won a fair few games and we'd be in the top four but because we have had to kick off on minus ten points it hasn't been easy."

Had both the fifth-placed Bulls and seventh-placed Spurs not started the season on negative ten points, the former would be currently sitting in equal second position with Wellington.

In the other games from the round, Wellington continued their strong form through the first half of the season with a 7-1 thrashing of Macquarie United.

Newtown dominated the struggling South Dubbo Wanderers with the score finishing 7-0.

Ladder-leaders Westside won 4-1 against RSL 78's in the round's final match.

Following the long weekend, Wellington and Westside will meet at Lady Cutler 2 for a top of the table clash for first position.

Wellington have been the surprise packet of this seasons competition with several imports working at the solar farms around the town.

Bulls will face Macquarie United in their next match while the South Dubbo Wanderers will be hoping their can register their first win of the season when they take on RSL 78's.

Newtown and Spurs will meet in the final match of the round in what will be another close game.
