Round seven of the Rawson Homes A Grade Premiership season continued at Nita McGrath courts with the Rhinos coming out on top 49-48.

Rhinos player Melinda Fox felt Saturday's match almost slipped away from her team.

"We really let it slide towards the end, we were up against a much younger and fitter team in Fusion Wild," she said.

"But towards the end we all came together and our defence was great with Kyla Flick and Allira Chatfield did really, really good."

Fox knows the team are in a bit of form at the moment.

"We've played together for most of us for a while, just knowing each other and how we move around the court," she said.

"I think it comes along towards the end and we get the job done."

Rhinos captain Ange Read said the competition this season was a lot closer than people thought with only four points separating second place through to fifth spot.

"There are definitely two stand out teams with Narromine [Hawks] and Fusion Heat," she said.

"The next five teams, it's pretty close between all of them."

Read also admitted her side was travelling better than even they expected already completing one of their goals this season.

"We are all good, all fit and all healthy, touch wood there are no injuries," she said.

"We are feeling pretty confident, I think we are sitting in fourth so we need to get a few more wins to stay in that top four.

"At the end of the day, our goal was to win a few more games then last year which we have already done because we didn't win any games last year and just try to make finals."

Read feels the two stand out teams are a nightmare to match up against.

"Both definitely, both two very strong teams and they are very fit and hard to play against," she said.

"We had a pretty good start when we played Fusion Heat a few weeks back but they came out in the second quarter and blew us away."

This season's Narromine team is also a mixture of two teams from last season and Read feels their combinations are a testament to how much the side play together.

"They're actually a mixture of last years A Grade Narromine and Inpire teams," she said.

"A lot of them have actually played together in regional league so they have played a lot together."

In the rounds other matches, the Narromine Hawks continued their unbeaten run with a win over St Groovers. Macquarie Hornets were no match for the Fusion Heat going down 61-30 and Nyngan had the bye.
