This week a health district spokeswoman has told of "consistent" demand for the free Pfizer and AstraZeneca jabs at the clinic since it started taking bookings on May 24.

She said the Pfizer jab was more "popular" than the AstraZeneca jab because the latter was also being administered by approved GPs in the city.

The new clinic's staff are currently giving the AstraZeneca jab to people aged 50 years or over and the Pfizer jab to people in the federal government's phase 1a and 1b priority groups.

They include health workers, critical and high-risk workers, aged care and disability care residents.

Dubbo and district residents are being encouraged to go to covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility to check their eligibility for a jab and if eligible book an appointment at their nearest clinic.

People aged between 40 and 49 years are being invited to register their interest in receiving the Pfizer jab at www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/register-your-interest-covid-vaccination.

The health district previously has advised they will be "invited to book an appointment as soon as there is availability at their nearest vaccination clinic".

The health district spokeswoman said the clinic's opening hours were based on bookings.

The offer of jabs on Saturdays was about making the vaccines "more accessible", she said.

"It's all going well," the spokeswoman said.

"Walk-ins" are not vaccinated at the new clinic.
