DubCon 2021 will be the convention's second year being held locally by group Above Board Games Dubbo for community members to gather over three days to rejoice in board, card and tabletop games.
One of the organisers Adam Clark said the convention was first held in 2019 and proved to be successful, brining in more than 200 players across three days.
"The first one was held in 2019, obviously we couldn't do it last year because of COVID-19, so this will be our second one, but it is supposed to run annually over the Queen's birthday long weekend," Mr Clark said.
"Above Board Games Dubbo members often travel to conventions similar to this, but we've been finding that to be more and more difficult to do and they've been booking out, so we thought, well, let's just do our own.
"[At the first convention] we had about 200 individuals over three days which was quite encouraging."
Mr Clark said the organisers had already had more than 60 registrations for the event, which is open to all ages.
"Children are welcome, anyone who is interested in seeing what's going on are also welcome to come down," Mr Clark said.
"There's games for all ages, we have quite a broad range of games and people are usually surprised that it's not just Monopoly or Scrabble.
"There's thousands and thousands of games to choose from. We have a library of games to choose from and volunteers to help teach them how to play if needed. There will also be a raffle, so we will be giving away some games too."
DubCon will be held at Kumiai Rya Martial Arts. Mr Clark said there was also a bakery next door to the venue for those wanting food.
"I should mention, the venue is also one of our sponsors," Mr Clark said.
"Kumiai Ryu Martial Arts System is sponsoring us by allowing us to use the venue and Basement Games is handling all of the games, so they're sponsoring us as well."
The convention will run over three days, all day June 12 and June 14, and for half the day on Monday, June 15.
Participants will be required to register to attend with a small fee for each day.
